On January 14, 2014 we traveled to Chantal, going directly to the two buildings which make up one of our two schools. A basketball court is being installed and should be completed by the time we leave. Clothes were distributed to the girls and it was amazing that almost all the clothes were the right size! The team is highly motivated to learn Creole and making great progress with help from the kids. The teachers were very comfortable with us today and appreciated our help. One teacher taught all of us with the help of the kids, to do a fabulous special version of tantan bouki, the creole version of Frere Jacques. Ellen shared that so much progress has made by Pastor Renaud and that because of RFA’s help, the community thinks there is hope for their people. How great is that? The meal prepared for us by Mami Renaud was the most delicious food and we want recipes. During the day, Vinny, one of our long-time volunteers, also finished installing the door knobs at the mission house with the help of Robinson, Jean-evens and Louigens. Tomorrow we are headed to the beach!
